Social Tools – Post 1: Installing iContact’s Facebook Application – A Step-by-Step Guide

In order to take advantage of our new Facebook Sign-up Forms, you’ll need to install iContact’s Facebook Application.

Before we get started, you’ll need to have a Facebook Fan Page. Facebook does not support adding Tabs to Profile Pages.

If you don’t have a Facebook Fan Page, you’ll need to create a fan page before following the steps below.

The installation of the iContact Facebook application is very easy, but just in case we’ve created this step by step guide to walk you through it. So here we go:

• • Step #1 – Log into Facebook.
    You’ll need to log in as with the administrator account to one of your Fan Pages.

• • Step #2 – Go to iContact’s Facebook Application page here .
    You should see the following page:

• • Step #3 – Click the “Add to my Page” link circled above.
    If you do not have a Facebook Fan Page you will not see this link.

• • Step #4 – Select the Facebook Page where you want to install the application. You’ll notice a pop-up listing all of the Facebook pages associated with the Facebook account that you used in Step #1. You will not see Profile Pages in this list. You can see the example below:

Select the Facebook page by clicking the Add to Page button. Afterwards click the Close button.

• • Step #5 – Go to the Facebook Page where the application was installed.
    If you don’t have that many tabs installed, you’ll likely already see a new tab called “Join Email List.”

If you don’t see the “Join Email List” tab, click the “+” link circled above and you will see that tab in the list as shown below. Then click “Join Email List” and you are done.

• • Step #6 – Create your Facebook Sign-up Form
    If you have already created your Facebook Sign-up Form and associated it with your Facebook page, it should already appear in Step #5 when you click on the “Join Email List” tab.
